Lake Muskesin is noted for Big Bass!Everyone has had great luck bass fishing this season. It's not uncommon to catch them right off the pier. Many anglers have smiled all week with the average bass ranging from 17" to 24" in length.

For the northern fisherman, a 40" Northern was caught right off the pier this past June.

Crappies

A few crappies were caught this year. The largest ranging from 13" to 15" in length. They were a little harder to find since they seemed to relocate from their usual areas.

Panfish

Never at a loss for blue gills, sunfish, and perch. Even our littlest anglers leave with a smile after a great week of fishing. Seem to be tasty morsels because quite a few bluegills were caught, kept and filleted.

Muskies

A 48" and a 53" Musky were caught this past summer.

It seems everyone left after their stay at Hide Away Haven Resort, with plenty of fish to eat of one kind or another. Lake Muskesin is a private lake. Hide Away Haven is the only resort on the lake. There is no public access or boat launch, which means there's no public fishing pressure. Even though the water level was very low the fishing was excellent.
